Foxes Hotel is located in the seaside town of Minehead in Somerset, overlooking the Exmoor Hills. The Foxes Academy programme teaches young people with disabilities vital life skills such as independent living and travel, functional skills like Maths & ICT, as well as English literacy. It offers them the opportunity to embrace a career in catering or hospitality, as well as daily cleaning routines and personal hygiene. During their time there, they also learn vital social skills living together and sharing routines, attending parties, discos and going to the cafe’ and local shops with their friends. They have made it their mission to help young people with learning difficulties to gain sustainable employment and to live independently.

The programme is a three year programme by the end of which, they will have learned to live independently in shared accommodation and have gained the necessary skills that can help them find employment in the working world. Some of Foxes’ graduates have gone on to work in hotels such as the Hilton and other barista training programmes or work in other cafes and restaurants across the UK. Foxes Academy has gained an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating for the third consecutive year making it the only specialist further education establishment to have achieved this result!
