Hello, My name is Rob, I’m a cartoonist from Ringwood.

Recently I have been illustrating a series of children’s books called Trigger the New Forest Pony written by Gary Mitchell. Trigger is based on a real pony who lives in the New Forest. These are short stories aimed at children but there is plenty of humour for grown ups to enjoy too!

Its great fun drawing the characters and giving them expressions which you can then exaggerate. You can also develop more personality for the characters you are working on.

The first story has a moral, Trigger wants to have big adventures, but the other ponies laugh and say he is far too small for that. As you read on, its a story about not giving up and having faith in yourself.

As well as working on the Trigger books I have my own character Norman The Fox. I first started drawing Norman way back in 2006. He is a fox like no other, who has many comedic situations with his long suffering wife Nancy. Looking at the cartoons, Norman is a fox who certainly loves to have fun! For more information about Trigger and to order a copy of his books please visit

You can also find Trigger or Norman on Facebook.
